German female politicians

Hello all,

I'm writing my final paper for my German History course on a comparison of modern female politicians in Germany. Specifically, I hope to compare Angela Merkel to Barbara Stamm and/or Lianne Paulina-Muerl. I want to look at how their backgrounds have shaped their politics, how they have risen to power, and what changes they've affected in their parties. (I may also look at how feminism has changed in their time.)
My problem is... it's very easy to find articles and sources on Merkel, but next to impossible to find anything of use regarding Stamm or Muerl. (Let alone in English!) Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does your beanbag need a pick-me-up?

I've seriously overestimated the amount of beans needed for my new beanbag, and so I'm looking to donate the excess to a beanbag in need.  I can't bring myself to just throw them in the bin so they're free to a good home.

Princes highway

Any idea what happened last night(10.45pm) on the princes highway, near warrigal rd?
There were police cars and the chopper circling the area. People were out at this intersection and down the highway.

On my way home from uni at lunch time it was bumper to bumper on the Monash Freeway between Warrigal rd and Springvale road in both directions. 
2 lanes were closed with fire trucks, police cars and what was a white commodore now half black, no windows and no interior. To me, it looked like it had blown up.
anyone else see this? Or hear about it?
I cant find any articles or reports on it and I'm really curious.

Hello peeps!

I am in a spot of bother. My sister is getting married really soon (it's a very hurried wedding) and as such I have to organise her Hen's night, which she would like to be held in 3 weeks time. She has already booked a high tea at the Windsor from 12pm until 2pm, and has informed me that she would like her Hen's to involve blokey strippers of some sort later in the day.

For my Hen's night my sister took me to see 'The Princes of the Night,' which was a lot of fun (mainly because they barely touched me and were very courteous towards the hens they brought on stage, and I barely had to touch them.) This is something like what I am after, but obviously I can't take her to see them! I don't want to organise a personal strip show for her, nor do I really want to go to a strip club for women unless I really have to (I'm imagining a version of Bar 20 or the Men's Gallery for women when I say 'strip club.) I have heard of the Mandate Male Review, however I have read some accounts of the show and some people said it is a little too touchy feely for the girls. My sister would probably be uncomfortable.

Do any of you wise maniacs know of a male review show other than 'The Princes of the Night' and the 'Mandate Male Review?' My research is not coming up with much at all.

Since I am stressing about the short amount of time I have to send out invites and get it all organised, can you guys think of anything to do to kill time inbetween 2pm and later at night? I can't think! I contemplated karaoke as it is something she does regularly, but she also organised that for my Hen's night too!

Here's the story, from a funny and bitter article writen by an internet journalist. ( be warned, I'm not a good translater because my english sucks...).

"Last october, some of the elected members from the city of Paris (communists, some socialists and a few ecologists) said that it was a pity that there's no Robespierre's street in Paris. They explained that there's a street and a little park called Adolphe Thiers, though that man send the army to slaughter thousands of parisians during the "Commune" (another little french revolution during 1871). There were much more people killed by Thiers in Paris in a week than people killed during the Terror in the whole France.
Mr de la Noë ( in fact, the french maire is called Delanoë, in one single word, but the journalist plays with his name, giving him a particle, like if the maire was noble and royalist), the maire of Paris didn't liked it at all. This man, who kneel in the front of Vatican's diktats to give to the most biggest and prestigious place of paris the name of Jean-paul II, was afraid by such boldness! : "What? Honoring Robespierre? That's horrible! The man who was Franco's confessor, yes! But the man who inspired the second Declaration of the human rights, never!!!"
The maire of Paris get mad at the idea and ordered that everyone voted against this silly idea!
So, the proposition was get down. Traitor's voices found the help of the UMP's voices (UMP is the party of the president Sarkozy) to make the "politically correct" win.
So, I guess that everything's fine, right?..."
